Hi, I’m Annette, founder of Camotion and graphic designer with over two decades of experience.
I started Camotion not long after we moved to an undeveloped sugar cane farm in rural Queensland, while I was pregnant with our second child.
At the time I had a rewarding yet demanding role as the marketing manager for a successful mid-size law firm.
That was back when websites were relatively new, and marketing relied on brochures and face-to-face events. Coordinating the marketing activities for upwards of 30 lawyers across four locations required a high level of organisational skills, as well as the ability to identify best-fit strategies to meet KPIs.
It was fast-paced and fun, but not compatible with the realities of living on a rural property with young children.
I started Camotion so I could work from home, supervising our three children and all the activities as we built our home and farm.
In the decades since, I’ve grown a successful design and marketing agency, working with clients in the Mackay region and Australia-wide.
As a small business owner, I know what needs to be done to launch and grow a successful business. And while design trends and marketing platforms come and go, what hasn’t changed is the need for a solid brand foundation, backed by creative design that reflects your business values and goals.
These days, you’ll still find me working from my office overlooking the sugar cane. The kids have grown up and two have moved out, so now my work is supervised by our kelpies Bruce and Lexi.
